Creative pathways – how to implement an expressive arts program for newcomers and their communities

What is Creative Pathways?

Creative Pathways is a new 6-module online course on integrating expressive arts to support newcomer survivors of gender-based domestic violence (GBDV) across healthcare and settlement sectors. The course introduces expressive arts as an effective intervention for mental health and well-being, while focusing on specific benefits for newcomers and their families. Learn how you can access the course modules, share them with your staff and networks, and use the modules in your own LMS.

Informed by findings from Access Alliance’s Hubs of Expressive Arts for Life (HEAL) Project, the course offers comprehensive training on how to implement an expressive arts program for newcomer individuals and their communities.

This project emerged as a response to the increased risks and impacts of gender-based domestic violence experienced by newcomer women, intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic. Building on over two decades of expressive arts and community health practice at Access Alliance, HEAL emerged as an interdisciplinary, participatory initiative designed to address gaps in culturally responsive mental health supports.

Who should view this webinar?
