Better boundaries

This session supports newcomers and caregivers in understanding the importance of healthy boundaries for self-care, well-being, and maintaining sustainable relationships while navigating new environments and responsibilities. Through guided discussion and practical tools, participants learn how to identify, set, and communicate personal boundaries. The session builds confidence in recognizing when boundaries are needed and expressing them clearly and respectfully to strengthen healthy relationships within their communities.

Audience

Age: All ages, focus on caregivers  

Community Needs: Identify and communicate boundaries with self and others. 

Group Size: 5-20 people

Language Level: Low Intermediate (Level 2–3) English proficiency

Recommended Art Materials

  • Clay or plasticene. Colourful plasticene or clay used for the “boundary breaker activity”. Some participants may latex gloves for this activity and wet wipes. 
  • Writing Utensils including large markers, pencil crayons, oil pastels, pencil crayons etc.
